I grew up in Salina and have enjoyed raising my family in this town. I received my BFA in Painting at Kansas State University and continued study in Art History and Painting at the Royal College of Art in London, England. For twenty years, I have been involved in the art community. I am an artist and have created murals in the local schools and taught art as a visiting artist through the Salina Arts & Humanities. For several semesters, I have been an adjunct professor at Kansas Wesleyan University in the Art Department and am on the Salina Art Center Board of Directors. I paint commission paintings and also donate artwork to many local nonprofit organizations for their auctions.
I am active at my church, First Presbyterian Church of Salina. Currently, I am serving as a Deacon. I enjoy this work in visiting the elderly and those who are in the hospital. It's a way I can serve others and feel like I'm making a difference.
I have three kids, Grant, Kegan, and Mary, who are almost all out of the nest! I am married to my husband, Andy. We have two black labs, Hank and Gus who are brothers from the same litter. They are a fun addition to our family.
